You’re not demotivated, you’re burned out.

You’re burned out.

Take a deep breath.

Let it sink in.

You have been carrying way too much for way too long.

It’s not that you don’t want to. It’s not that you’re lacking motivation or willpower. You are physically, hormonally, and emotionally burned out.

You don’t need another motivational speaker telling you to get your butt out of the couch that you need to toughen up and get your ass moving. You’ve had enough tough love already.

What you need now is care.

You need recovery, time for yourself, and to recharge.

Your nervous system is on the brink of shutting down.

You are not lazy, you are simply exhausted.

Being burned out does not mean that you failed; it’s a signal telling us we need to act.

Of course, you can’t keep up! Who could? You have so much to do, so much pressure on your shoulders. It’s exhausting.

Let’s put that pressure down for a minute, would you?

I’m also guilty of asking too much of myself. I do it often. But I’m becoming better at recognizing it and stepping down and resting when I need to. We can’t stop the world from spinning, take all of that pressure away, or make all of those tasks on your to-do list disappear. If I could snap my fingers and do it, I would.

But even if we can’t take everything away, we still have a lot of power over something.

You!

We can take back control of your life, your mind, and your body.

Right now, your body is physically, emotionally, and hormonally drained.

What do I mean by that?

Your body has been overworking itself for too long. It could come from stress, poor sleep, illnesses, poor quality nutrition, overworking, etc. It has done too much and is now starting to shut down. You have hit a wall. Small things now feel like mountains, and you feel exhausted simply thinking about your to-do list. After a long period of stress and overexertion, it will affect the way your body works. It will impact your hormones and their action in your body.

But that’s not all. You’re trying to hold it together for everyone around you, but you feel like you have nothing left to give. You cry more often than you used to, you feel on the edge, and you lose patience quickly. Your emotions are heightened.

All of that makes sense, right? But still, what are you supposed to do? We have already established earlier that you are burned out and have no motivation. I’m not going to ask you to push through and still start working out or meal prepping, telling you it will solve everything.

Instead, I’m going to ask you a question: When was the last time that you did something for yourself and yourself alone? Something that made you truly happy.

Was it a long time ago, or was it just yesterday?

You need to recharge yourself, and that’s exactly what we are going to do. Not by wasting time scrolling on your phone or watching TV. No, we are actively going to use rest to recharge our batteries.

I want you to make it a new practice in your day to stop for ten minutes. Stop whatever you are doing and simply try to breathe. Close your eyes and try to be present in the moment. Simply focus on your breath and repeat that sentence to yourself.

“I am allowed to rest. “

The sentence isn’t an excuse to be lazy. It’s not an excuse to procrastinate. It’s a permission to rest and to take care of yourself. Use those ten minutes to do an activity that used to make you excited. That used to bring you joy.

No phone, no to-do list, nothing to do other than an activity that will fill your cup and give your nervous system what it’s craving.

Don’t you think you deserve at least ten minutes in your day for yourself? It’s your life after all! Shouldn’t you get at least ten minutes just for you?

It won’t fix the burnout overnight, but it will at least help you center yourself and give you some of your energy back, helping you tackle the bigger problems and energy thieves in your day-to-day life.

You don’t need more motivation.

You don’t need a new diet or a new workout plan.

No amount of protein powder, shakes, pills, or to-do list will ever fix an exhausted nervous system.

You need more care, more rest, more gentleness. Rest isn’t a reward that you somehow need to be worthy of; it’s your right.

If you’re craving a path to bring you back to yourself, something that will restore you and help you reconnect, I’d be happy to support you. Because you don’t have to climb out of burnout by yourself.
